Wie mij een beetje kent, weet dat deze natuurlijk mee moeten naar de #dhnshow in Arnhem.
Mijn Delfts blauwe badkamers zijn eigenlijk ontstaan uit iets heel simpels: ik kon zelf niet vinden wat ik zocht. Veel miniatuurbadkamers vond ik grof, allemaal ongeveer hetzelfde en vaak niet mooi in schaal.
Dus ben ik ze zelf gaan maken. Verfijnd, natuurgetrouw en echt 1:12 — met ieder exemplaar net weer anders.
Inmiddels staan er hier heel wat in verschillende stadia op mijn werktafel.
Dit zijn enkele onderdelen. De rest houd ik nog heel even voor mezelf. 😉

Anyone who knows me a little knows that these naturally have to come along to the #dhnshow in Arnhem.
My Delft Blue bathrooms actually originated from something very simple: I couldn't find what I was looking for myself. I found many miniature bathrooms to be crude, all roughly the same, and often not beautifully scaled.
So I started making them myself. Refined, true to nature, and truly 1:12 — with every single one just a little bit different.
By now, quite a few are sitting here on my workbench in various stages.
These are a few parts. I'm keeping the rest to myself for just a little while longer. 😉

De eerste verdieping van Ashcroft Hall met muziek kamer, overloop en bibliotheek met geheime deur(en).
Alle lampen in de muziek kamer heb ik zelf gemaakt en hebben elk ruim 120 glazen kralen van 3mm. De piano is gedecoreerd met baroque afbeeldingen. Het plafond is bekleed met spiegels. Alle vloeren zijn met de hand gelegd met op maat gemaakt echt houten parketvloeren.
Het plafond in de bibliotheek is mijn grote trots, handgemaakt en elk stukje hout is per stuk op maat gezaagd. Alle boeken zijn een voor een handgemaakt, net als de luiken voor het raam, alle boekenkasten en de geheime deuren. Dit was de kamer die ik van begin af aan in mijn hoofd had 😊

I made all the lamps in the music room myself, and each has over 120 3mm glass beads. The piano is decorated with Baroque images. The ceiling is covered with mirrors. All floors were laid by hand using custom-made real wood parquet flooring.
The ceiling in the library is my great pride; it is handmade, and every piece of wood was cut to size individually. All the books were handmade one by one, just like the window shutters, all the bookcases, and the secret doors. This was the room I had in my head from the very beginning 😊
